Having been the leader of the best and biggest KF clan i still wonder about the general opinion on clans in KF.
So the question i want to ask you is; Do you think KF clans are fun/necessary, and do you think KF is sufficiently clan orientated?

I enjoy being in a clan. And it adds a sense of achievement and pride to your clan when you complete all 16 rounds. Sure KF Clans aren't the most important thing related to KF teamwork but it certainly helps.

I personally do not see it as relevant, as clans usually come into competetive gaming where one clan challenges another clan to see whom is better - with Killing Floor its merely clan vs AI so there is no real reason why you should create a clan as you will have to band together as a team anyway in order to get anywhere. Thats just my point of view.

in this game its good to have a bunch of guys you know of as being good, kinda prevents those situations where u get welded in by some idiots. on the other hand a user group in an im client sorta suffices for that purpose, but if sum1 fancies being in a group why not, its not like we speak about kkk or hitlerjugend.
and imo xpc being best clan is like having one person in a highscorelist

I see the point of a Clan in KF as being a group that play more challenging games together on their own server (If they can afford to hire one or bloody well sort it out to work argh!)
I've arranged clan only games and its good to know that these clan members are decents players who aren't going glitch or be a fool and weld people. It's very fun playing with good players on suicidal setting and working as a team, it catches the real spirit of the game.
Plus I think clans give other players something to work forward to in game. If they see seasoned players working together as a team in a clan 75% of the time they are going to copy that behaviour.
A good clan in KF can be seen as a group of ambassadors for the game. True clans can't compete against each other but they can work together which is the whole point of this game which sometimes gets a little lost.
Ramble over!

Whilst I dont see the point in specific CLANS for KF, I do see the point of a unified team. Like many posts above, I find the most amazing KF games are played with other KF veterans, people I know who will take the game serious enough to help each other out and actually work as a team.
I have played many online games that were very "meh", people who exploit, are selfish etc etc and it makes a very crappy game.
When a team of unknown people come together, it can make a truly amazing game. Ur fighting for your life with other soldiers that you've never met before, someone who isnt your friend, but becuase of the game/situation you fight together, you watch each others back and protect each other when in peril. Thats what KF is all about IMO, and thats what makes it a unique experience.

Not neccesarily veterans either...really, as long as the other people know each other, it works great. The Z.E.D clan ain't exactly Duke Nukem, but it is fun everytime we play. Knowing each other's skills helps a lot too.

This was never a problem, we always had a few members with a good connection. Always fun playing on the private servers.
True, also fun to see people interacting with each other troughout the game. Example; Abyx and Lara.
True.
Watch the KF 2.0 promo vid for proof.
Meh.

When I was cool enough ta 'hang 'out wit' yo' bros', all they did was say dirty things to each other, and occasionaly kill the odd zombeh. I ressurect the Funny Chat Logs Thread as proof. With a clan, you generally have more chance of co-ordination, as getting a bunch of randomers to join your Teamspeak server isin't likely. Using Teamspeak or Ventrilo as a VoIP works a lot better than those really ghey "Heal me pl0x " binds.

For myself Thou personally enjoy beginning in a clan, the games are more tactical played better and clan members can reliability on each other as the members can trust each other.
As clan members, it our responsibility to show all the newbie’s that join KF how the games are meant to be played and what tactics are used, the many new player whom I have seen recently online say” are you pro’s” (to the clan member and seasoned players), as players accumulate a large amount of money within the beginning waves of the match like £800 to £1000, and they wonder why the player gets large amount of money. I normally say it due to the skill that has been learnt from sticking together and working as a whole, not all separated from each other in the map.
As MadMax said, once newbie’s see you working together as a team in a clan or they see a seasoned player fragging the hell out if the specimens, they start to copy you, in which starts to make them good players and so on! Too many players at the moment are learning about glitches/cheats KF, and most of the experience’s players are being left on there own as they’ve got no backup due to newbie’s glitching or even leaving after 5 minutes of game due to no team work and cheating. So it is good to have clans to teach others, and show them how the game is meant to be played, as it is a co op survivalist horror mod!

I totally agreee with RPD on the new players, there has been many a game where I have been pretty much the sole soldier, whilst other players either fuck about, glitch or attempt to weld me out etc. Its annoying and it isnt fun, those games are the ones I tend to leave early. KF is all about teamwork, if other players wanna run around doing their own shit then they should go play counter strike or day of defeat.
It's a pity that public multiplayer gaming has gone this way, luckily KF hasnt strayed too much into it, but other great games such as CSS and DODS suffer. If you ever play these games with a CLAN or a group of friends it truly is an awesome experience, play online and its a complete mess!
Have you ever played CSS or DODS in true team work fasion? I have played CSS in Rainbow Six style, its fucking awesome, there's nothing like having a full 6v6 battle it out in a truly epic battle.

Haha oh please do i'd love to see that! Too much effort ._. Lord giveth those funny moments, and Lord taketh, they cannot be recycled again, otherwise Satan comes and maketh the joke foul and unpleasanteth, it's a complicated procedure that most scientists just calleth "Bad Humor"'eth, but a good analogy for it is simply recycling toileteth water. Goodeth a couple of times, but after awhile, it gets really...reallyeth..brown. And everything* that is brown, sucketh. Google, therefore, is against the Lord, for googlingeth has the ability to recycle old jokes. This is why Google, is blockedeth from many schools**. * Except Hobnobs** At least it is from mine, because Yahoo and Live Search, is Holy. And Google is a Sin.

Clans >6 people don´t really make sense in KF, imo (well, except clan=12 players, bigger numbers start to grow senseless again), but I only said that so this wouldn´t be completely spam, because what I´m really trying to say is:
"sucketh" = gold ;D
