I was dissapointed with Twilight Princess. I didn't dislike it...I never have disliked a zelda game, but I was expecting better. First and foremost, why, exactly, do the developers seem like they're being forced to make it easy enough for a drunk, retarded three year old to finish it? I mean, the zelda series had absolutely no challenge to it once it switched to 3d. Light spoilers follow, though I'll try to avoid them. The first few dungeons made me think "Isn't this exactly like Ocarana of time?" The parts which weren't ripped from OoT kinda blew. I disliked how wolf form was never any more powerful than when you first got it, and I disliked how amazingly lame the end boss was, especially after he was set up as a huge badass. There were some good points, though: the little spin fighter top, for example, even if it was horribly underused, and also the double clawshot. I approved of the afro siblings, and horse combat was...well, it wasn't completely horrible. All in all, I'd say this is the best part about the new one.

I apologize in advance. You just can´t mention the Z-word around me without me switching into horrible-rant-mode.
Ocarina of Time still is the greatest and challenging (come on, you can´t tell me you didn´t spend hours on end in that water temple) Zelda game, imo. It´s also the one I spend most time with to complete it, plus I think they managed the jump from 2D to 3D pretty well. At the same time I have to admit, though, that I didn´t play Majora´s Mask. I just didn´t like the whole "waaah, this huge meteor is about to fall on me head, think, Link, think"-theme.
Let´s switch to Twilight Princess, though:
Two points I totally agree with. Towards the end I only used the wolf form when I had to and this is something they could and should have changed since the whole wolf thing is basically the only thing that´s new. The last boss... yes, the last boss *sigh*. The way they introduced and orchestrated the final battle was just fine, imo. I really liked the music, too, it´s just... it was way too easy.
Another thing: I read this commentary on Twilight Princess somewhere (just can´t remember where) where the author stated something very interesting. He described TP as a game that had failed at one very important thing: story. He wrote that he never really felt involved with the world of Twilight Princess and looking back at it I agree. You´re basically the lackey of a certain second main character from the start until the end. It all evolves around her - and sometimes Zelda. Then, at the end she even ... well, you get what I´m hinting at. Women.
What spin fighter top?
Afro siblings... afro sib... oh wait, those two. They were kinda ... strange. Horse combat... Like many other things it didn´t really have a sense, gameplay-wise. You could do it and that´s about it, except for the three or four occasions when you had to - and I actually enjoyed those.

The spinning top...the thing you used to kill the zombie dragon? That was fun as hell.
I 100% agree with the story thing. I hated how it kept hinting that you'd become dark link, but nothing came from it. I also hated how there was no magic whatsoever.
Plus the beginning took waaaaaaay too long. In the ultimate zelda ever(OOT) you spent about a half hour wandering around in the forest with the devil children, then its pure hack and slash up to the end. Here I go around the village, and I talk to the morons, and I catch the ram, then I get the frickin' fish, and the cat follows me to the jackass, and I throw my gamecube through the window and beat the first person I see to death with my fist.
Also, if you get the chance to pick up majora's mask, DO IT!!! IMO, its the best zelda of all time. Hell, I should run through it again right now. Its awesome, as you can go back and take out the bosses of whatever temple you feel like, due to the whole time restarting deal, and at the end of the game you'll be able to kill the first boss in one hit. Plus, while there are only four dungeons, they're some of the best dungeons I've ever seen, and the second boss is the best one in any zelda game.

I know I'm late on this one, but the only niche I'd pay to see Uwe Boll in is in the bottom of a canyon somewhere, on fire.

Three days....I've only ever played Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess. And I totally agree that so far Ocarina of Time was the greatest one yet, however, I loved the (Spoilers. Blame the forum admin.) horse combat whilst doing the escort mission. Although the big boobed lady scared me. But it got so easy with the lock-on, that I just had to not use it..for the sake of actually being challenging. (k, liek, spl0its are over.)
Also to Blue...480p is HD, its just not very. There's definetly a difference though, such as Link and Epona GLOWING.

@ Macon: Ah, that spinning top. Yep, it was awesome and yep you could rarely use it outside of that dungeon. The magic, I totally forgot about that. Yes, no magic at all for poor link - less variety in gameplay for us. Then there´s the beginning of Twilight Princess and I totally agree with you there... Herding sheep is one thing (learning to ride), but then searching for some stupid cat and whatnot. Bah. Mh, and Majora´s Mask ... I think there´s a Zelda collection for the gamecube out there somewhere with all Zelda titles up to a demo of Windwaker. I might buy that or wait for Nintendo to release another collection. I´m still sceptic of the gameplay, though (3 Days, 3 days...)@medic: Yes, 480p is HD, but ... yeah. Barely. But I guess glowing characters make up for that ?

Hah, Anyway on topic. I think a halo movie in the style of those Live Action trailers for halo 3 would make a great movie material.
