I listen to all sorts of wacky crap... I'll give you some ideas actually, and if you want any, PM me, because I think a lot of stuff I have is freely distributed anyway.
This is Band - Song:
Brad Sucks - Dirtbag (Go search on google, he lets people download his music for free)
M83 - Unrecorded (Used in the trailer for Night Watch... decent movie, better trailer)
Explosions in the Sky - Help Us Stay Alive (God I love this song, and this band... pure instrumental, you need to hear this)
Sigur Ros - Staralfur OR Flugufrelsarinn (You've probably heard the first one, both are awesome)
Delirium - White Wave - (Honestly, anything by Delirium is just unmentionably cool)
And finally, without a doubt, my favorite band is Poets of the Fall. If you like music, rock or anything, you need to give these guys a shot... they wrote the ending theme music to Max Payne 2 as a favor to the developers... I have not yet heard a song of theirs that I don't like. PM me if you're interested, as it's tough to get them... only one or two websites deliver to the US.
Besides that, I listen to anything... Leppard, Metallica, Queen, Kansas, Coldplay... Jack Johnson is an amazing singer to just whittle the day away with... Frou Frou... I also love soundtracks, especially Silent Hill 2...
