I really love the mod but i see almost nobody online. I have the 1.0 version and ive read about you guys getting together and gaming on wednesdays and saturdays. Ive logged in to your irc chat via UT2K4 a few times and havent seen anyone. Guess thats my fault for not reading enough. I also have a question about making a dedicated server so i can run it and see who gets on it, all the options i have are spectate and create game when it comes down to it. ive got no experience in any mod making but i do love to play the games that you guys make up. Good mod, love it.

As far as I know, no one really plays on Wednesdays and Saturdays as a group, really. If you get into the Shit! Zombies server and play for abit, there's a 50/50 chance someone will join. KF is a small community most of the time, we always welcome new people. Welcome to the Insane Asylum. We have cake.

Anecdotal fact :
When I first saw this thread, I thought it read "Sub people". And upon reading through it and finding no mention of the aforementioned race of what would be presumably amphibious dwellers, I felt cheated.
Then I realized it said "sup".
Ah.
And welcome to the forums ;D

;D i do love a good community. So about that "Dedicating a server" thing, i was wondering how to do it off my own pc. cuz its on all day but i shut if off when i go to bed. im currently at a pull right now between Killing floor and City of Villains, so i was thinkin i could run a server on my pc and play CoV while keepin the server up. that way i can see who gets on and track em down to see when they get on.

Well I'm on most of the time, I was playing a few minutes ago Really the best way to get online together is by adding eachother to IM programs... Whatever you use has to be real time to have a chance of meeting up.

Which server do you play CoV on? I play on justice, and am beginning to understand why people call it the short bus server. Seriously...broadcast line was just...ugh.

I found it hard to meet up with people for a match too, even on the meetup days. What about setting up an IRC channel in which everyone can idle until enough players come online? Sure there are other real time messengers, but not everyone uses the same one or refuses to install so many different ones.
Well, maybe the release of 2.0 will flood the server again and bring up even new ones. I guess it's already hard to advertise a mod to a larger range of players.

A mod with a large playerbase is an anomaly. Sad but true. #killingfloor on quakenet used to be the official chan. It's unregistered now but that doesn't stop anyone from joining still. It's just not moderated anymore. 1.0 had a pretty large playerbase the first couple months. With the vast improvements I'm positive there's going to be a larger active playerbase, let's just hope that there'll be enough server's to cope w/ the reduced player limit. I admit that I will miss the full 16pers KF server

Welcome to the forums man, I'm sure you'll find the community here gets along really well, and only has a few of those sad cousins we don't like to introduce to new folk...

I admit that I will miss the full 16pers KF server I guess a lot of people were just scared away by all the bugs, that gave 1.0 this rather "unfinished" look and feeling. While surfing around I've read statements like that here and there, which didn't sound maybe exactly like this, but which implied the overall meaning quite right. Only a small amount of players just overlook bugs and take the game as it is for their pleasure, but the "omg KF is t3h suxx!!!1"-sayers may find the way back with 2.0. If there'll be only one 6 player server, it should be quite difficult to always get a spot.
